Section: meta

This section defines metadata for the component manifest. Metadata can be captured by automation tools

Every component must define at least manifest version and kind. Other fields are optional.

We took inspiration for manifest design from Kubernetes resources. However we do not enforce mandatory metadata.name. Everything besides metadata is optional and intended to be used by automation tools.
